Decide – The first part of goal setting is to decide what your goals are. Write them down and be specific to make them real rather than an abstract idea. Recording your goals on paper will help you visualize your success and increase the likelihood of following through.
Plan – Create a plan of how you are going to reach your goals. You can decide to change your outcome or the end result with a new plan and series of action items.
Take Action – The most important thing to do is make sure you are constantly working toward your goals every day. It is extremely crucial to set yourself in motion every single day and to not procrastinate or hesitate to avoid losing momentum. What is something you could do tomorrow to get one step closer to reaching your goals?
Flexibility – Look at your progress. Is your plan working? If it isn’t, decide on a new plan. It is absolutely essential to be flexible in your plan. If your plan did not result in what you had hoped, don’t give up. At least you will know what does not work and will be that much more educated when deciding on your new approach.
Do you set goals for your business and / or personal life? Do you have flexibility in your goals?
